DHI (Direct Hair Implant)

What is DHI Hair Transplantation Technique?

At first glance, DHI technique can be described, different from FUE technique, as a method where two stages are performed simultaneously with the transplantation of hair follicles harvested from donor area in the recipient area using implanter without opening channels. Choi needle has a very thin, cylindrical and sharp tip. The Choid needle with cylindrical tip is in the form of a channel and hair can be driven through this channel into the needle. The reason why DHI technique is also called as Choi method is this feature of the needle.

Advantages of DHI

Ensures a sounder result of transplantation minimizing the period during which the hair roots stay aout of tissue.

The survival rate of hair roots is higher.

It minimizes the risk of bleedings as much as possible due to the smaller area of incision.

A quicker healing may occur after hair transplant operation, thus the patient can be back to their daily routine within a short time.

In this method, it is easier to perform hair transplant without shaving.

Disadvantages of DHI

Here are athe aspects which we can describe as its disadvantages against FUE method:

Both the physician and the operation team must recieve a long training to best use and specialize in this me.

In DHI method, maximum number of hair roots that can be transplanted is 3.500. FUE method is preferred for those who have a larger hairless area in their head.

It is often cited as a more expensive method compared to the other methods of hair transplantation. The person who will perform the transplantation must be very attentive with high condition.
